People were already discussing the possibilities - who might come to town, what kind of events we could expect, and how it would all impact our community. Despite the hype, life went on as usual. The architecture surrounding Popeyes remained the same - a mix of old and new buildings that gave the downtown area its unique character. I couldn't help but think about how places like this, with their friendly staff and delicious food, were part of what made Modesto such a special place to call home. As Hope handed me my order - crispy fried chicken, fluffy biscuits and creamy coleslaw - I thanked her and left the restaurant, feeling grateful for the small moments of kindness that could make all the difference in our daily lives. The RNC may come and go, but places like Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen were here to stay, serving up delicious food and spreading a little bit of hope (and chicken) one meal at a time.
