I guess that's the question. I think that in the past, North Little Rock had to have some kind of a service oriented restaurant model for people to have a good meal. In the mid 1950s or early 1960s the restaurant industry shifted toward what's called drive-in restaurant or drive-in dining.
You know, drive-ins are kind of the restaurant of last resort for people who are not hungry, who have to come to the restaurant for some kind of special occasion, like wedding parties, baby showers, or other special occasion, for a very small, inexpensive price. And then the industry shifted in the 1970's and so the restaurant industry went from being based on drive-in to the drive-in, drive-in dining is just about anything you could possibly cook here in the kitchen here on a Sunday morning where there are just about as many tables as there are people sitting on this restaurant table.
The problem now is, if people can just get here for free at a drive-in then what's the point of going to the restaurant?
Well, now they have an option and so they want to go to the food and then they're really hungry and they're just in need of a place to sit at the table and consume great food.
